Lower nitrate and phosphate the natural way. EcoPip™ Reef biopellets are a solid carbon source for your aquarium. Loaded into a fluidized reactor, they feed beneficial bacteria that consume nitrate and phosphate — the two nutrients behind nuisance algae and dull coral color.
Made from 100% plant-based PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate), the same class of solid carbon source reefkeepers already trust. No fillers, no dyes. Works in both freshwater and marine systems.
- Reduces nitrate & phosphate through natural bacterial denitrification
- 100% PHA — plant-based, no fillers, no dyes
- Freshwater & marine — reef tanks, planted tanks, and community aquariums
- Biodegradable — not a persistent microplastic
How to use: Add to a fluidized media reactor sized for your system. Start with about 1 cup (236 mL) per 50 gallons of total water volume, with gentle tumbling flow. Allow 4–8 weeks for the bacterial colony to establish and nutrient levels to drop, and run a protein skimmer alongside for best results. A little cloudiness during the first couple of weeks of cycling is normal.
Pair with a fluidized reactor (sold separately). Not intended for use as loose substrate or décor. Need more than 2 lb? Contact us for bulk pricing.
