The Problem with Conventional Toys

Traditional toys are overwhelmingly made from petroleum-based plastics that are designed for durability but not for the environment.

Over time these materials:

  • break down into microplastics
  • persist in landfills for hundreds of years
  • release chemical additives into ecosystems
  • accumulate in oceans and soil

This creates a hidden environmental cost that future generations will inherit.

EcoToys was founded to rethink how toys are made.

A Better Way to Make Toys

EcoToys was created to rethink how toys are made from the ground up. Instead of relying on petroleum-based plastics, we design products using safer materials, thoughtful manufacturing, and a long-term environmental perspective. Every EcoToys product is built around four core sustainability principles.

Biodegradable Materials
Designed using compostable materials that bio-degrade rather quickly instead of persisting in the environment for centuries like conventional plastics.
Non-Toxic Play
Our materials are developed without harmful chemical additives commonly found in traditional plastics, helping create a safer play experience for children.
Made in the USA
EcoToys products are manufactured in the United States, reducing transportation emissions while supporting responsible domestic production.
Sustainable Design
EcoToys are created with the full product lifecycle in mind, helping move toys toward a circular model where materials can safely return to nature.
Trusted Sustainability Certifications
These are some of the independent certification programs that confirm the use of renewable materials and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
BPI Certified Compostable
The BPI Compostable certification confirms that a product will break down in industrial composting facilities into natural elements without leaving toxic residue, helping divert waste from landfills.
USDA Certified Biobased
The USDA Certified Biobased label verifies that a product contains renewable biological materials derived from plants or other agricultural resources instead of petroleum-based plastics.
OK Biobased – TÜV Austria
The TÜV Austria OK Biobased certification indicates the percentage of renewable biological material in a product and verifies the use of plant-based resources in its composition.
